Choosing Christmas Lights with a Timer
A built-in timer allows the light set to run on a repeating daily cycle after activation. Hartes stocks selected products with 6-hours-on/18-hours-off cycles and others with 8-hours-on/16-hours-off cycles, so always check the particular listing or packaging. Some also include multiple lighting modes; timer operation, memory function and outdoor suitability are separate specifications and should not be assumed.
Timer Lights – Frequently Asked Questions
Do all battery Christmas timer lights run for eight hours?
No. Hartes carries selected 6-hour-on/18-hour-off models as well as designs specified with an 8-hour-on/16-hour-off timer. Check the individual product's stated cycle.
How does a Christmas light timer work?
Typically, you activate the timer at the time you want the lights to start. They then follow the stated on/off cycle each day, subject to the product's instructions and battery power.
Do timer Christmas lights remember their lighting mode?
A timer and mode-memory feature are not necessarily the same thing. Some sets retain the last selected effect, while others may reset. Check the individual listing if memory is important to you.
Can Christmas timer lights be used outdoors?
Only choose a product specifically rated for outdoor use. Check battery-box protection and installation instructions, even when the LEDs themselves are suitable for outside.
Which battery timer lights should I choose for a larger tree?
Compare the illuminated length as well as LED count. Selected Hartes timer ranges have 100, 200, 300, 400 and 600-LED options, but light spacing and battery requirements vary by design.
