Explore Christmas tree lights in warm white, bright white and multicoloured styles, with a choice of LED counts, lengths and lighting effects. Hartes stocks selected static, chaser and multi-action sets for compact trees, larger displays and festive decorating.
Choosing the Right Christmas Tree Lights
Start with your tree’s height and shape, then compare illuminated cable length and LED spacing, not only the number of LEDs. Warm white creates a softer glow, bright white offers a crisp look, and multicoloured lights suit a nostalgic display. Check the individual product for power source, lighting modes, memory function and outdoor suitability.
Christmas Tree Lights – Frequently Asked Questions
How many Christmas lights do I need for a 6ft tree?
As a broad starting guide, consider around 400–800 LEDs depending on the width of your tree and whether you prefer subtle or fuller illumination. LED spacing and illuminated cable length matter as much as the light count.
What is the difference between static and chaser Christmas lights?
Static lights stay continuously illuminated. Chaser or multi-action sets offer selectable effects such as sequences, fading or flashing, depending on the particular model.
Do Christmas tree lights remember their last setting?
Some light sets have a memory function that restores the chosen mode after being switched off. This feature is model-specific; check the individual product description rather than assuming every set has it.
Can I use Christmas tree lights outdoors?
Choose only a set explicitly rated for outdoor use and follow the manufacturer's instructions, particularly for connectors, transformers and power supplies.
Should I put lights on the Christmas tree before baubles?
Usually yes. Arrange your lights from the trunk towards the outer branches before hanging decorations, so it is easier to spread the light evenly around the tree.
